Who: Tim Daly, currently on Private Practice (which I think is still on), Joe Hackett of Sandpiper Air
Why: He looked great in a bomber jacket on Wings and running around in an untucked and unbuttoned white dress shirt in The Fugitive TV reboot
When: Wings run (early ’90’s)-whenever The Nine was on
Level of Obsession: He was one of those actors that I used to follow in anything. I was one of five people who watched (and loved) the short-lived Eyes, The Nine and The Fugitive. But he’s found the one vehicle I cannot bring myself to watch despite his presence: Private Practice
“Ahhhh!” Moment(s): “Because we’re the Hackett Brothers!”, any of the Sandy Cooper Stalker episodes, and the Joe/Helen courtship on Wings. He was excellent and very hot on the The Fugitive which was cancelled before he could find the one-armed man
My mom and I first discovered Tim Daly on a show called Almost Grown that was on very briefly in the late 80’s (apparently 10 episodes brief!) It was about a recently divorced couple and each episode had a contemporary storyline about their lives post-divorce, as well as flashback on another period in their relationship. It was marvelous and engrossing and just now by googling it – I see it was by David Chase of The Sopranos fame! We were very disappointed when “The Norman and Susie Show” (as we called it) got cancelled but from that point on followed Tim Daly wherever he appeared. A few years ago TVLand started doing Wings repeats on Friday evenings and damned if I didn’t find an excuse to stay home every Friday night!

Tim Daly is the only reason I started watching Private Practice and he is the only reason why I still watch it. 🙂 He is an excellent actor.

Yes, Private Practice is still on….and he’s one of the reasons I began watching it. He’s aging well.
