Last weekend Jill and I watched U2 Go Home: Live from Slane Castle. It got me listening to old school U2 this week and reminded me how damn awesome that early stuff is: Gloria, Out of Control, I Will Follow, Two Hearts Beat as One. They have all held up as good as new. Each song that came up on the playlist made me giddy with delight as I screamed along with the songs.
I love this performance of Out of Control from that show: Bono’s introduction of them as a baby band with local references to Malahide and Artane, thanking their parents for lending them money to get started, thanking the fans for making them rich!:
Apparently last time they played this live was 2005 which is just insane. It is such a crowd pleaser and should definitely be back in the setlist this summer. Hear me boys?

I’m telling you- a nice anonymous letter to Paul McGuinness with a dream setlist for the tour will do the job!
I can just imagine the boys discussing what to put in the show and Larry going “Hey, remember back during the Vertigo leg we did In a Little While and we invited that nice chap Brandon Flowers on stage? That was quite magical, maybe we should do that again.”
